Philippines-based water services company Manila Water has announced plans to develop a new water treatment plant (WTP) in the East Bay of Laguna Lake, Philippines.

MANILA Water is set to build a new 200 million liters per day (MLD) water treatment plant (WTP) which is expected to provide an additional supply of potable water to Metro Manila s East Zone.Manila Water has inked a partnership deal with Acciona, PrimeBMD and Santa Clara International, which form the consortium that will design and construct the facility.The P7.84-billion East Bay Phase 2 WTP, located in Barangay Kabulusan, Pakil, Laguna, is expected to deliver potable water to an estimated population of 2 million in Pasig, Pateros, Taguig and nearby towns by the first few months of 2025.Byder Nangit, Manila Water senior project manager, said this project is part of the company s water supply master plan that aims to ensure water security and supply reliability in the East Zone.Once completed, the project will also lessen the water supply s dependence on Angat Dam.The WTP is part of the East Bay Phase 2 Water Supply System (WSS) Project, which also includes the construction of a reserv
