Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region mostly climbed Monday, Jan. 29. Hong Kong stocks rose, with the Hang Seng Index up 0.8% at 16,077.24, while the Nikkei 225.
Tesla suppliers are trading lower after the U.S. automaker's disappointing results. Other EV makers in Asia fell due to its downbeat production outlook for the year.
Those models, including an entry-level $25,000 car, would allow it to compete with cheaper gasoline-powered cars and a growing number of inexpensive EVs.
