industry? isn t it, for the german industry? that is another remarkable industry? that is another| remarkable development, industry? that is another- remarkable development, that over the past two decades, europe in general but germany specifically have been very successful notjust in buying stuff from china but also selling stuff to china. the us is roughly importing the same amount from china so as a supplier it is equally important but europe sells 60, 70% more than the us to china and that amount has growing much faster as well, so china reopening is a positive story for europe, for germany specifically especially relative to the us. mil specifically especially relative to the us. all right, thank you relative to the us. all right, thank you so relative to the us. all right, thank you so much - relative to the us. all right, thank you so much for- relative to the us. all right, l thank you so much forjoining us. to the us now, where investors on wall street have been cheered
people s behavior to some degree, but people still went out and bought a lot of gifts this holiday. i think american consumers are still going to do their thing. they re going to stay strong, keep buying stuff and because of the weirdness of the supply chain issues we have due to covid, a lot of the goods that they were going to buy for christmas, they re going to just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. we had a lot of backlogs in retail while things couldn t get over the ocean so i suspect that retailers will be in kind of a seller mood. maybe farther into this season than we expect amazon had two black fridays, it s just yes, there s inflation in some goods. we re seeing inflation in food still and services but when it comes to the some of the goods that people want to buy for their loved ones, things have that supply chain has
it s crazy. dana: then you turn the page and it says americans are more lonely than ever and they are not sure what they are going to do with themselves because they don t have anyone to take care of them. jessica: it s a weird argument. i hang out with a lot of left-wing people in my spare time. i ve never heard anyone say this. people voiced concerns about the world that we are bringing them into. gun violence and things like that. i haven t heard the argument for depopulation. in order to help the planet in normal conversation. jesse: one way to save the environment is built of border wall because if everybody stays in central and south america, their carbon footprint is lower. once they get here, they start buying stuff, driving around. admitting. if you stay down there, have a nice clean planet. dana: on that note, one more thing is up next.
are ultimately here to do which is to provide these bastions of connection for people. when you look across industries where you look at what we all did over the course the pandemic, people didn t stop buying staff. you look at amazon stock price over those, years people don t beside buying stuff. we universally we gain a perspective on our need for human connection. i think that restaurant, i think despite the fact business is far beyond restaurant or anyone in any business can make the choice to be in the hospitality industry. the ones that flourish now are going to be the ones that we remember about what we are to do is provide meaningful connection to those that we serve. it s one i was struck by reading the book, we ve got to be really easy to say i m not a restaurateur, why way but hospitality, but you it matters in your day-to-day life and matters as it relates having people in your home and as it relates to your coworkers.
