According to a Facebook post from the Jones County Sheriff s Office, the suspect, 26-year-old Jeremy Xavier Butts, has been arrested by US Marshals in El Paso, Texas. -
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a man wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at a party in Gordon.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect is 26-year-old Jeremy Butts, of Milledgeville.
They say Butts was flown out of state immediately after the shooting, and are asking anyone with information to call police.

GRAY, Ga. The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a fatal accident on Eatonton Highway.
According to Sheriff Butch Reece, it happened on the section of the highway between Fortville Road and Harris Morton Road around 2:15 p.m.
Reece says a rock truck collided with another vehicle. The driver of the truck died, and the driver of the other vehicle has hand injuries.
Sheriff Butch Reece is asking drivers to avoid the area and to expect delays if you unable to find an alternate route. Right now they have one lane open.

MACON, Ga. As people continue to try to get vaccinated against COVID-19, law enforcement officers are also getting in line. Law enforcement agencies explained to 13WMAZ their plan to get workers vaccinated and if anyone has been vaccinated yet.
In Macon, the Bibb County Sheriff s Office says that no workers have been vaccinated as of now. Macon-Bibb County Government is working closely with the North Central Health District and we are following their guidance and protocol for phase 1A, Spencer Hawkins, Bibb County Emergency Management Director, said.

GRAY, Ga. - A disgraced Georgia cemetery owner began serving his prison sentence after admitting he stole from people who thought they were pre-paying for their funeral needs.
Jerry Bridges, 77, pled guilty in November on 43 counts related to theft and fraud. The allegations involve $216,000 in missing money originally paid to Bridges for future funerals, burials, and perpetual care of gravesites.
“That just boiled me,” said Mike Bryant, who’s 93-year-old mother paid Bridges $4,000. “I couldn’t see how anybody could do that.”
