A handful of Pennsylvania state prisons will resume in-person visits

A handful of Pennsylvania state prisons will being allowing in-person visits over the next two weeks, the state Department of Corrections announced.
On-site visits have been suspended since March 13, 2020, and replaced with free video visits because of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 11,000 inmates were sickened and 138 died from the virus, according to data provided by the state.
SCI Laurel Highlands will be the first prison to allow face-to-face visits starting Saturday, followed by SCI Waymart on May 27, SCI Muncy on May 30, SCI Cambridge Springs on May 31, and then the Quehanna Boot Camp on June 3.
