The UP state cabinet has approved the establishment of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority, marking the creation of the state s second industrial city. The city will be constructed in the Jhansi district and is expected to bolster the defence corridor. The initial phase of the project will involve acquiring 35,000 acres of land at a cost of Rs 6,312 crore.
The proposed industrial township will come up over 35,000 acres of land in 33 revenue villages of Jhansi district in the first phase of the project, state Finance, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said.
