that had to be dealt with was federal money on abortion, which has been illegal for longer than most of these people have been members of congress. and, yet, this is what they find themselves fighting about at the finish line? well, lawrence, you re right. it s really quite incredible what s going on. and this is just plain, all politics. no federal funding can be used for abortions. what we re talking about are cancer screenings, breast cancer screenings. blood pressure checks. those things that allow women to have the health care they need. in my state, over 70% of the funding we re talking about goes to local health departments. local health departments that work with local women. and i cannot believe that they are holding the budget hostage, holding small business loans and middle-class families and veterans and troops hostage over a fight about women getting breast cancer screenings. i mean, really?
