Internal bickering within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leadership is coming into the fore after its dismal performance in the Municipal and Corporation Elections in Andhra Pradesh. TDP leaders and party workers are shocked at the fact that they lost and are still trying to understand where they went wrong.
The tier-two leaders who have been working for years for the TDP especially the second rung leaders are upset against top leaders in the Vijayawada Corporation. Municipal corporation candidates are firing on leaders who have tarnished the party s image, especially in the run-up to the elections.

The municipal elections poll results apparently failed to reflect the people’s mood in Andhra Pradesh. The farmers of the Amaravati capital region have been protesting against the 3-capital formula, put forward by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, for more than 450 days but their anger has not manifested in the municipal poll results of Vijayawada or Guntur, despite close proximity to the capital region.
The YCP’s stupendous victory in both the corporations of Vijayawada and Guntur dealt a blow to the TDP which tried to raise the tempers by raking up the issue of Amaravati. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, during his campaigning, urged the people to stand for Amaravati but his appeal failed to evoke any emotion. In Guntur Municipal Corporation, the YCP won in 45 divisions and the TDP in 8 divisions out of the total 57.

VIJAYAWADA: A day after three of his party leaders came out openly against Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) bringing to the fore the bickerings in the party, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu rued that internal democracy in the party had gone beyond limits and vowed to set things right.
Without directly referring to the rebellion of MLC Buddha Venkanna, former MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and minority leader Nagul Meera against Nani, Naidu, who held a roadshow in the city on Sunday, said the TDP could achieve better results if party leaders put up a united fight to keep the YSRC at bay in the VMC elections.

AMARAVATI: Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas slammed Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting Vijayawada City during his term and said he doesn t have any moral right to campaign in the city.
Speaking to media here on Sunday, the Minister said Naidu couldn t complete the construction of Kanaka Durga flyover in his regime and not even release any funds for the development of Vijayawada while Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy s government has completed the flyover construction and also sanctioned Rs 600 crore works for the development of the city. He asserted that YSRCP would win in all 64 wards in Vijayawada Corporation.
He said the people of Vijayawada are tired of Naidu s lies and demanded Naidu to seek apology from the people of the city for his utter negligence towards it.
