A wave of new development is in the works for one of the Fan’s main thoroughfares that’ll bring to the neighborhood dozens of new townhomes, duplexes, apartments and more.
The rehab of 1501 and 1503 W. Cary St. has begun, with plans to renovate the 124-year-old buildings into a modernized mixed-use development with a half-dozen apartments and commercial space.
It was a busy night for the city’s Planning Commission on Tuesday, as it gave the thumbs-up to everything from a boutique hotel in the Fan, to a new Manchester apartment building, to a bridge replacement project near The Diamond.
