  Deaths this week: Margaret Merrill, Robbie Kincaid, Donald Works, Don Burress.   Switzerland County High School held its graduation ceremony for the class of 2011 on a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon, but the large crowd inside the gym witnessed a wonderful commencement.   Jacob Chandler, who graduated form Switzerland County High School in 2008 with academic honors, has graduated from Ivy Tech College with an associates degree in Applied Science.   Jennifer South, a 2007 graduate of Switzerland County High School has graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.   On a bright and sunny Memorial Day, a large crown of Switzerland County residents and visitors took some time to come to the Veteran’s memorial at the courthouse for annual services.

Parking rage rears up after car crashes into shop

Her workplace is on the main street where the crash happened. This is the hub of the business centre and you need to be able to access safe parking for shop goers and delivery vehicles, she said. Noosa Council confident no harm to environment from burn

Premium Content Subscriber only Noosa Council is “confident” any harm to the environment has been contained after an investigation found workers had burned and buried treated timber at a Pomona depot last year. A Department of Environment and Science investigation was launched after officers attended the Yurol Forest Drive site in October. Council’s acting infrastructure services director Bryan O’Connor said the council welcomed the findings from the department.  Mr O’Connor said the council had taken a “proactive approach” and remediated the site while the investigation continued.  The Pomona depot on the outskirts of the Yurol State Forest is at the centre of the investigation.
