Ayman Kaake, the Midsumma and Australia Post Art Award Winner 2022, is coming to Midsumma with a new solo show, ’99 Names’. 99 Names is a collection of photographs and video installation that unapologetically call out the double standard of society that we live in. Homosexuality is still a crime in at least 74 countries, and 13 of those impose death by public stoning as a penalty, this show is a testament to the hypocrisy of religion and politics and the acts of atrocity that they condone.

From Brick Lane to Saigon @ BLOQ

Saigoneer Trigger In this exhibition, hosted by Jack Clayton Art displayed, for the first time will be a series of woodcut prints inspired by Brick Lane Street in the heart London’s trendy East End. The theme is inspired by the popular Ukiyo-e theme of ‘8 views’ and is a series of 8 images captured on a walk from one side of Brick Lane to the other. Each block is hand carved and printed in the reduction method and watercolour tones have been added for extra depth. There will also be a range of the artist s most popular Vietnam prints including his illustrations and some prints from the archives of his time in Australia before he arrived in Vietnam.
