February 5, 2021 Hakim Hayat Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) marked World Cancer Day with an event themed ‘An Expression of Support Through Music and Songs for World Cancer Day’ at PJSC lobby yesterday, in partnership with Expression Music Academy. World Cancer Day is celebrated annually on February 4 around the world with activities geared towards increasing awareness towards cancer and to encourage its prevention, early detection and treatment. During the launch, staff of The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of PJSC showcased a musical performance and choir to express support for cancer fighters and survivors. February 6, 2021 Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre World Cancer Day is marked all over the world on every February 4. This year was the first event uniting the global cancer community amid the COVID-19 pandemic. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration penned in 2008. The UICC is the largest and oldest international cancer union comprising over 1,200 organisations in 172 countries. It is dedicated to taking the lead in convening, building capacity and advocating initiatives that unite the cancer community to reduce global burden, promote greater equity, and integrate cancer control into the world’s health and development agenda.

News 2021 - Over 900 New Cancer Cases Reported In the...

​ The number of new cancer cases in the country continues to increase annually. Last year alone, over nine hundred new cancer cases were reported. This was shared by Doctor Raden Mas Jeffri bin Raden Mas Ismail, Consultant Medical Oncologist, The Brunei Cancer Centre, TBCC, Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre in an interview during yesterday morning s Rampai Programme in conjunction with World Cancer Day. Among the frequently occurring cancer are breast cancer, colon cancer and cervical cancer which affect women. Colon cancer, followed by lung cancer and prostate cancer can easily affect male patients.   Doctor Raden Mas Jeffri also explained that patients with the risk of getting cancer are those aged 40 and above. Eventhough last year the country faced the challenge of COVID-19, cancer treatment in the country was able to be carried out well.
