The Illinois Schools Report Card finds that 89.2 percent of teachers stay at Brookdale Elementary School year to year, according to their 2020 three-year average.
The Illinois State Board of Education records data concerning faculty salary, retention and attendance because maintaining a stable faculty makes for a better environment for teachers and students, furthering student success, according to the report.
Indian Prairie CUSD 204 full-time faculty members number 1,770, with a student-teacher ratio of 18-to-1. There are 488 students enrolled at the elementary school.
The average salary for teachers within the district is $72,638, ranking it 123rd out of 1096 districts in the state for pay. About 91 percent of teachers at the elementary school and 91 percent of those in the district were absent 10 days or fewer in 2020, compared to 86.6 percent of teachers in the state.

Macon-Bibb County commissioners voted Tuesday to approve $1.5 million in CARES Act funding to buy the Brookdale Elementary School building from the Bibb County School District. That’s much less than the $5 million listing price.
Commissioner Elaine Lucas is a retired educator, and she says the Warming Center is essential for helping homeless children and their families.
“Anything that we can do for children and ultimately their families and ultimately all of us in society, we need to all be apart of that,” said Commissioner Lucas. “So I’m proud of what this administration has put together.”

MACON, Ga. (AP) A middle Georgia government plans to buy a former school that was rapidly turned into a homeless shelter after two men froze to death on Christmas.
WXGA-TV reported that Bibb County Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to use $1.5 million in federal coronavirus relief to buy the former Brookdale Elementary School from the Bibb County school district. It’s now being operated as the Brookdale Warming Center and officials intend to continue using it to help the homeless.
“We want to change lives and reach out and give some people a hand up and help them move on to be productive citizens. I think that’s what we’re doing. As an early skeptic, I’m in support of it and I will support it,” said Commissioner Mallory Jones.
