alexander stong threatening a mass shooting on campus. live now in college park with the latest. campus police say they did not issue a campus wide alert for this particular threat because they said they shut it down so fast. this is of course a developing story here. students are understandably shocked. university of maryland department of safety officials say 19-year-old student of fulton maryland posted a number of threatening online messages saturday night that were so disturbing to other that is they contacted police immediately. for me it s terrifying only because this campus i don t think it s like ultra safe but i never think of anybody getting shot or there being any mass shootings. authorities say he wrote, i will be on a shooting rampage tomorrow on campus. hopefully i kill enough people to make it to national news. and, stay away from the mal at 1:30. students are telling us they worry about walk ago lone on campus. but news that he threatened to kill as m

a student arrested, accused of threatening a shooting rampage on campus. good evening. i m chris gordon. that student was taken for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. news 4 s darcy spencer has the red flags that help police track him down. she s live tonight at the university of maryland. darcy? well, chris, we re right across the street from the university police department. it was here they received information right around 9:00 or 9:30 last night that these threats were being posted on websites. they worked it all throughout the night and they say they were able to track these postings down to this young man here. he s a 19-year-old student and he was taken into custody on campus this morning. a university of maryland student has been arrested for allegedly threatening to go on a shooting rampage at the college park campus. university police tracked down the students through internet postings and arrested him on campus around 10:00 sunday morning. police say he was un
