Lanx founder Marco Marv Vaghetti An Italian grandfather gave Marco Vaghetti his glamorous-sounding name but when it came to launching his business, the Whalley man chose to honour his Lancashire roots. Marco, known as ‘Marv’, is the founder of Lanx, a high-end footwear brand specialising in traditional shoes with a local twist. Based in Whalley, Lancashire references run through Lanx’s DNA. The soles of its shoes are stamped with the image of its mascot, the British White Bull, whose origins are linked to the county. Many of Lanx’s shoes are named after places in the area, with the Mitton Chelsea boot among its best-selling styles.
