Soldiers cheered the crowds confirming the armys role in bringing mr mugabes 37 year rule to an end. As numbers on the streets swelled, state media said eight out of ten regional branches of the governing Zanu Pf Party have passed a vote of no confidence in the president. Mr mugabe has been under house arrest since a military takeover four days ago.
