PHILIPSBURG: - Thursday, April 29th, the White & Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF) celebrated Carnival with their vaccinated staff and clients on the WYCCF premises.
The troupe, which danced outdoors around the different buildings, consisted of vaccinated staff and clients, which gave this year s troupe their name: The White & Yellow Cross Pfizer Troupe! With various colorful feathery costumes (loaned by Brenda Wathey and Erica Fortuno), a music truck, and a large group of clients who couldn t stop dancing along, the afternoon was an absolute success.
Based on the latest guidelines of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and RIVM, doing an outdoor activity with persons who are vaccinated, was deemed very safe by WYCCF management. In addition to giving the clients a wonderful afternoon, it is important to showcase to those who may still be hesitant to be vaccinated, that life will return to normal if we achieve herd immunity on our island. PHILIPSBURG: -This week, USLAUNDRY collaborated with White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation on a COVID-19 vaccine information session for all its employees.
USLAUNDRY is an industrial laundry that serves the hospitality and health care industry in Sint Maarten for over 25 years.
The company considers it very important to have all its staff members vaccinated against COVID-19. USLAUNDRY wanted to have its employees make a well-founded decision by having the WYC experts share facts regarding the pandemic, available vaccines, and debunk myths from the internet in the process.
In an effort of making sure all team members are well informed Bregje Boetekees, Director of White & Yellow Cross, visited the laundry to provide the information. From the point of view of the company, empowering everybody to get the COVID-19 vaccine avoids not only employees getting seriously ill but also helps to protect those around them.

PHILIPSBURG: - On Monday, March 15, 2021, Governor Holiday paid a working visit to the vaccine center at the White and Yellow Cross and to the vaccine center of the Sint Maarten Medical Center. Both locations started administering the second dose of vaccines to persons today.
The White and Yellow Cross and the Sint Maarten Medical Center are two of the four vaccine locations which the government commissioned since February 22, 2021, to provide vaccine to our population. The Sint Maarten Medical Center administers vaccines to staff members of the hospital, of Sint Maarten Laboratory Services, of the Cay Hill Pharmacy, of the Ambulance Service, and of the Firefighters. The White and Yellow Cross vaccination location s main focus is to provide vaccines to residents of the center, other persons over 60 years, and the staff of the center. PHILIPSBURG(DCOMM): - On Monday morning February 22, the first COVID-19 vaccine inoculations took place, a very important step in heading into a post-COVID-19 era.
The White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF) at St. John’s Estate, was the place where the first COVID-19 vaccine in the country took place. The event which was live-streamed via the Government of Sint Maarten Facebook page started out with Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs officially launching the vaccination campaign.
In her opening remarks, the Prime Minister mentioned the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the community which started almost a year ago. The loss of loved ones as well as the harsh financial impact on the national economy were some of the key areas that the Prime Minister pointed out.
