New Jersey State police said that a second arrest has been made in a mass shooting in Cumberland County. Officials also announced that a third person succumbed to her injuries Monday evening.
Police said that Darrell Dawkins, 30, of Bridgeton, was at the birthday party in Fairfield Township when the shooting occurred late Saturday. He has been charged with unlawful possession of a handgun. The investigation does not say that he is a suspected shooter at this time.
The arrest comes as 19-year-old Braylin Holmes, of Millville, succumbed to her injuries at Cooper University Hospital. Asia Hester, 25, and Kevin Elliot, 30, were also killed in the shooting. Eleven others were injured. Holmes is the youngest victim identified.
He named the other two victims who died in the shooting as 30-year-old Kevin Elliott and 25-year-old Asia Hester. Both were from Bridgeton.
Authorities arrived at the house in Fairfield Township, about an hour outside of Philadelphia, late Saturday night. A resident who runs a local anti-violence organization said he was called out to assist families at the 90s-themed party. John Fuqua, of Life Worth Living, said guests who attended the party were of all ages. One person has been arrested in the targeted mass shooting in New Jersey over the weekend at a crowded birthday party. Sydney Long reports.

A second person was arrested and a third victim died following a birthday party shooting over the weekend in Cumberland County, authorities announced.
Darrell Dawkins, 30, of Bridgeton, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun days after Kevin Dawkins, 36, was arrested on similar charges, New Jersey State Police said.
The younger Dawkins was not believed to be a shooter in the incident, in which 14 people were struck by gunfire.
Braylin Holmes, 19, of Millville City, died of injuries sustained in the shooting and was pronounced dead Monday night at Cooper University Hospital, police said.
Kevin Elliot, 30, and Asia Hester, 25 both of Bridgeton were also killed in the shooting, authorities previously said.
