In 2009 a Blue Ribbon Committee of the National Academy of sciences recommended that all public forensic laboratories and facilities should be removed from the administrative control of Law Enforcement agencies or prosecutors offices. The committee stated and i quote forensic scientists who sit administratively in Law Enforcement agencies or prosecutors offices or hired by these units are subject to the general risk of bias.
