Here we go again with Gov. Tom Wolf’s rhetoric on more funding for public schools. Test scores prove that throwing more money at schools does nothing to improve our children’s education.
Teachers unions are the problem. They strike often and mostly for the same two reasons: more money and more benefits. They say they care about the kids. Right. Then advocate for the return to in-school learning for all districts, and stop striking. Outlaw teachers strikes in Pennsylvania. I don’t think kids are learning at home they’re in Walmart with their grandparents.

Bradford Woods is Indiana University’s Outdoor Center and is supported by the Riley Children’s Foundation and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. They operate 10 weeks of Recreation Therapy summer camps for people with cancer, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, craniofacial anomalies, severe burn survivors, autism, various physical disabilities, rare genetic disorders, and Down syndrome. While camp will certainly look different this summer with COVID-19, they have worked closely with IU and Riley Children’s Hospital to ensure a safe and successful summer for staff and campers.
They hire a staff of 80+ individuals and are currently recruiting for the summer of 2021. Bradford Woods is an excellent opportunity for students interested in the field of medicine because of their holistic, therapeutic mindset and practices applied to all they do, as well as the variety of camper population they see. Freshman state Rep. Rob Mercuri, R-Pine, said one of his House committee assignments a seat on the Liquor Control Committee will allow him to continue his predecessor’s efforts to end the state’s liquor store monopoly. Mercuri replaces former House speaker Mike Turzai, who led the fight to allow beer and wine sales in grocery and convenience stores.
