Residents of the Resort Village of Fort San say they were “blindsided” by a plan to move an addictions treatment centre into their community, but advocates argue their fears are based on misconceptions and prejudice.
Dozens of residents joined a teleconference Thursday with the executive director of Pine Lodge and the owner of the building where the addictions treatment centre hopes to relocate, after a Christmas Eve fire devastated its Indian Head facility. Many complained of a lack of consultation as the plan moved forward.
