GREEN RIVER The Edgewater Park playground in Green River has been upgraded and can now be enjoyed by the community.
The Green River Parks and Recreation Department received a $50,000 Sweetwater County School District #2 Rec Mil grant last year to help cover the costs of improvements at Edgewater Park.
LuckyDog Recreation put the playground equipment together which now accommodates children ages 2-12. Previously, the park accommodated children ages 5-12, so the playground now allows a wider range of kids to play.

The Edgewater Park playground was over 25 years old and replacement parts were no longer available for the equipment. Prior to these upgrades, it had been over 10 years since Parks and Rec replaced a playground in Green River, according to Brad Raney, Parks and Rec Director.
GREEN RIVER The Green River City Council unanimously approved the submission of a grant application to help pay for the city’s mosquito control program.
The Wyoming Emergency Insect Management Program (WEIMP) is a 50/50 grant with the purpose of providing supplemental help in managing emergency outbreaks of insect pests for the protection of human health and safety. The city’s portion will be $7,500 for the 50/50 match. Funding for the grant is already included in the existing budget.
Green River Parks and Recreation Director Brad Raney said the city has been successful for the last three years with this grant.
