REMER, Minn. A 1-year-old boy died in a house fire near Remer on Friday morning, with four others escaping unharmed, according to a release from Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire at 1:46 a.m. on Friday, May 7, in the area of Ghe We Zance Lane Northeast, in Boy Lake Township near rural Remer, which is about 30 miles east of Walker.

CASS COUNTY, Minn. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded early Friday morning to reports of a house fire in rural Remer.
According to reports, deputies arrived at the scene around 1:46 a.m. in the area of Ghe We Zance Lane Northeast in Boy Lake Township and found a duplex engulfed in flames.
Deputies located and safely removed one adult female in a bedroom of the duplex.
The Longville Fire Department, Federal Dam Fire Department, and Remer Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
Authorities later located a 1-year-old male deceased inside the residence.

A one-year-old child has been killed in a fire in rural Remer, northern Minnesota.
The fire was reported to authorities at 1:46 a.m. at a duplex in the area of Ge We Zance Lane in Boy Lake Township, Cass County.
The Cass County Sheriff s Office says deputies arrived to find the building engulfed in flames, with the property filled with smoke and fire.
Deputies were able to get a woman out of the home from a bedroom, while another woman and three children were able to escape before responders arrived.

BOY LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. (FOX 9) - A toddler was found dead after an early-morning fire broke out at a home in northern Minnesota on Friday.
According to the Cass County Sheriff Office, firefighters and deputies responded around 1:46 a.m. for the fire off Ghe We Zance Lane NE in Boy Lake Township, west of Remer, Minnesota.
At the scene, deputies say a duplex was fully engulfed by flames. Inside the smoke-filled home, deputies were able to find a woman in a bedroom and pull her to safety. Deputies say another woman and three other children were also able to escape before deputies arrived.
