Pic: Faye Cameron PARKRUN, the free 5k Saturday-morning company, which runs six weekly events in Bradford, has announced when its events will return post-Covid. The global running phenomenon has revolutionised grassroots running since its launch in 2004, but has not been held anywhere in any of the home nations since the first coronavirus lockdown was called in March 2020. It organises weekly runs at Bowling Park, Horton Park, Lister Park, Roberts Park, Myrtle Park and Cliffe Castle, as well as Oakwell Hall in Birstall, Aireville Park in Skipton and Chevin Forest in Otley.

These Bradford primary schools won't be opening as planned tomorrow

At least three schools in the district have confirmed they will remain closed. It comes amid calls from teaching unions for all schools to remain closed for two weeks following the Christmas break. Bradford Council has said it is following Government guidelines, with primary schools reopening today; pupils in Year 11 and Year 13 returning on January 11 and other year groups on January 18. Tomorrow the Government is asking our members and students to be in school.
