The Patriot Ledger
So you can t head out to hear live Irish music on St. Patrick s day this year, but you can watch a great Irish band, the Dropkick Murphys, perform virtually.
Keeping with their annual tradition, the Irish punksters who got their start in 1996 in the basement of a barbershop in Quincy s Wollaston neighborhood will perform a free livestream show to commemorate the patron saint of Ireland.
Titled “Still Locked Down,” the Blarney blowout gets underway at 7 p.m. March 17 and can be viewed at www.DKMstream.com.
Fans can expect the usual mix of energy and Shamrock shenanigans from the band. The location of the concert is unknown, but a press release indicates the band will be performing on an arena-sized stage with a full LED screen and it will also feature a new video show.
