WESTAMPTION, NJ Last week marked the birthday of Dr. Seuss and Read Across America, but more importantly, an annual tradition that takes place on the Burlington County Special Services (BCSSSD) Westampton Campus Guest Readers. Each day of last week a different theme day was planned, and on Monday, members of district administration and high school students read their favorite Dr. Seuss book to the younger students on campus. Daily themed activities included fun hat day, wearing a wacky outfit, crazy sock day, and pajama day, with each day’s theme matching a specific Dr. Seuss book.

TRENTON, NJ – Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced on Tuesday a “transformative” step in New Jersey’s juvenile justice system through the creation of a Community-Based Services Consortium that will bring a wide array of pro-social programs to youth in secure care settings and residential community homes operated by the Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC). The Attorney General’s Office hopes the skills, habits and knowledge that young people develop through these activities will foster self-esteem and resilience while also strengthening ties to their communities.
