City leaders are combating a COVID-19 surge in Medford, where significant clusters of cases are tied to a large family gathering and a local restaurant.
“Immediately after Thanksgiving, we saw our case counts surge, with more than 700 cases since Thanksgiving,” Public Health Director MaryAnn O’Connor wrote in an email to the Medford Transcript. “We remain concerned about informal gatherings, especially gatherings with family who do not live in the same household and continue to urge everyone to refrain from gathering with people outside their household, not to travel or have family from out of state visit, continue to wear masks, and practice social distancing.”
