Arrivals to New Zealand were down 40 per cent over the three-day travel freeze with New South Wales compared to the same period the previous week. Qantas and Jetstar operations had also returned to normal. Customs data shows there were 6760 arrivals into New Zealand during the freeze. Over the same period the previous week there were 10,826 arrivals.

Independent aviation commentator Irene King says the travel pauses create uncertainty for customers.
Since March 28 the airline has been flying an additional two services per week, to reach six weekly flights to Auckland from Dubai. “Customers holding tickets with Auckland as a final destination and who do not meet the entry requirements will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin,” the spokeswoman said. Passengers travelling from points in India to Dubai and connecting to EK448 operating to Auckland would be accepted for travel until Friday after which the restriction would apply, she said.
