Nick Mucciolo missing: Louisville man last seen on Kurtz Ave. is found

LOUISVILLE, Ky. A Louisville man who was missing since early Tuesday from Kurtz Avenue in southern Jefferson County has been located, authorities say. Nick Mucciolo, 23, had been last seen in the early morning hours in the 4200 block of Kurtz Avenue, which is east of Blue Lick Road and south of the Gene Snyder Freeway. Statements made by Mr. Mucciolo have family and friends in fear for his safety, LMPD said in its Operation Return Home alert. MetroSafe said just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday that Mucciolo had been located, and police said he is safe. This story has been updated. Reach Billy Kobin at bkobin@courierjournal.com.

Reminisce: Forgotten towns of Allen County By Greg Hoersten - For The Lima News Watt Town or Solar city was bounded by Third Street, Greenlawn Avenue, Fourth Street, Metcalf Street and the Lake Erie & Western Railway. Many workers from the Solar Refinery lived there. In 1922, the residences were leveled to make way for an expansion at the Lima Locomotive Works. In June 1882, Jacob D. Watt, a dry-goods merchant, platted what was known as Watt Town or Solar City. Watt left Lima by 1888, and in 1914 his plat was vacated. SOURCE This is the first of a two-part series. Next week focuses on Auglaize City and other dreams. This feature is a cooperative effort between the newspaper and the Allen County Museum and Historical Society.

Reineke Ford to help clean up Sugar Street Adopt-A-Roadway: 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at Lima Ford Engine Plant, Bible Road. Reineke Ford is teaming up with Lima’s Adopt-A-Roadway program to clean up a section of Sugar Street between Bluelick Road and state Route 81. LIMA A group from Reineke Ford is teaming up with Lima’s Adopt-A-Roadway program to help clean up Sugar Street. The first cleanup is set for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 10. The section of road to be cleaned up will be between Bluelick Road and state Route 81. Reineke will be providing all of the supplies. Participants are asked to meet at the Lima Ford Engine Plant.
