COVID-19 tests for HGV drivers travelling on the UK Landbridge to France & certain other countries
Important Reminder:
HGV drivers travelling on a
ferry direct from Ireland to France DO NOT require a Covid test unless they are travelling to France or to the Netherlands via the UK ‘landbridge’ route – if you are a driver and you are travelling via the UK landbridge, you can get a test here in Ireland, or in Great Britain on your journey.

IRELAND S hauliers are expecting travel chaos at ports in the coming days due to the Government s last minute scramble to set up mandatory rapid antigen test centres, the Irish Sun can reveal.
The French government has introduced new regulations which require lorry drivers to have a negative Covid test result before they enter the country.

All truck drivers who travel from Ireland to France after 11pm tonight will have to prove they have a negative Covid-19 antigen test or else they will be turned around.
The Government have hired Irish healthcare company RocDoc to carry out the rapid antigen tests for truckers with two testing sites set up at Dublin Airport and Gorey in Wexford.

The full scale of Brexit-related congestion at Dublin Port will not be seen until next week, officials have said.
Haulage representatives have said that the effects of changes to customs rules will likely not be seen this weekend due to the new year, but at a briefing at the port today, an official from the Department of Transport said that the true level of backlogs could be seen next week.
