here in charleston. we just saw our photojournalist here, panning to the left and your left. the blue awning there you can see it is flying up, almost came off its mooirings earlier. so the debris, it could be dangerous, this is warren street, these trees have been buckling all night long. we talked about storm surge, michael, you just mentioned it. high tide in charleston harbor was approaching nine feet. the third highest on record, the highest since hurricane hugo 27 years ago. i talked to an emergency management official, a tornado warning in myrtle beach, a significant distance here from the north carolina border. so this storm even at its edges really causing problems as the eyewall starts to approach, in

charleston. nick, buddy, i m sorry. how are you doing? hey there, christie. i m doing good. it s dry in there in that studio, but we re continuing to get whipped around from the heavy winds here from hurricane matthew. i know you just reported that this has been downgraded to a category 1 hurricane, but it sure doesn t feel like it here. this is probably the most intense this wind has been in the four hours or so we ve been out here this morning. the rain is also coming down. some awnings are precariously hanging from the buildings. the blue awning continues to tap the glass there. we have to watch out for that. hanging from these buildings here on the side of the street as it s being uprooted from the street. that just happened the last couple hours or all right. i m sorry. he s obviously in the middle. he s in the thick of it there. kudos to them. nick, if you can still hear me, hoping that you and the crew are safe and you continue to be safe
