from the colorado rescue that couldn t walk. oh, look at these guys. hi, guys. this is blackfire, rockland, and peyton. hi, blackfire. i m a friend. good morning. they had such severe metabolic bone disease. their bones were just riddled with fractures. when we rescued them, they were about 4 months old. this happens a lot in these cub-petting places. they take them from their moms. they re not getting the proper calcium they need. they were limping and could barely walk, and they were just dragging themselves around by their front arms, just screaming with pain every time they tried to move. they just had all their limbs had fractures all through them. how did you rehab them?
we re trying to give them pain meds and get them to eat things, and they re crying, and i had tears and just said, you know, this is not working. they were facing euthanasia. that s it. i m not going to cry. it was up to emily to break the bad news to the care team. but then something miraculous happened. got down to the hospital that morning, and blackfire stood up. it was like, oh, my god, they can stand. and now they re all walking. yep, and running and playing. you can see he s got that slight limp. it might not even be painful, though they re on a pain management program. wow, look at that tongue. whoa! over time, proper nutrition
