In the only competitive race for the Pittsburgh Public Schools board, a challenger backed by a new PAC takes on an incumbent who says she deserves the position. Veronica Edwards lost the May primary to Gene Walker by 114 votes.
Wayne Walters, a longtime school leader and former teacher, will lead the state’s second-largest district Pittsburgh Public Schools until a search to permanently fill the position begins in December.
