Old bank on Providence Square now home to Black Scranton Project A former bank along one of Scranton s busiest streets is set to become a center for arts and culture. Johns and her organization Black Scranton Project plan to turn the former bank into a center for arts and culture. A lot has happened over the past couple of years and I think it s a testament to the fact that this is needed and it s important. it s time for us to really start investing in communities of color, said Johns.

She shared some ideas for anyone unsure of how to celebrate this month. She said, “I think the most important thing is to take some time every day to look into black history, whether it s local, regional, or national. You can go to Black Wall Street dot com. Honestly, right now, quick Google searches.”
