The Indian government has approved 27 firms, including Dell, Foxconn, HP, and Lenovo, under a new IT hardware scheme. Around 30 out of 40 applicants are expected to qualify for the Rs 17,000-crore production linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
The scheme is key to India s ambitions to become a powerhouse in the global electronics supply chain, with the country targeting an annual output worth $300 billion by 2026.
