Construction begins on first new tram stop of Birmingham metro extension
Construction has begun on the first of three new tram stops along the Birmingham Westside Metro extension to Edgbaston.
The new tram stop is being construction on Broad Street and is the first of three new stations being construction as part of phase two of the extension.
The final stretch of track to the stop has now been completed, paving the way for the tram stop’s construction to begin.
West Midlands mayor Andy Street said: “That we are celebrating yet another milestone for this important project, even as we navigate through these difficult times, is a brilliant achievement.
