Rite Aid is once again expanding the number of no-charge COVID-19 test sites it operates. The Camp Hill, Pa.-based chain is opening 317 additional drive-thru testing locations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania on Feb. 5, via its partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services.
The new sites bring the total number of testing sites operated by Rite Aid to 777 across 16 states. The company said that like the other sites, the new ones would use PCR self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. The sites are offering tests for all individuals 4 years old and older, regardless of whether they are experiencing virus symptoms, in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
