Prison time for North Coast teen who ignored court orders

Premium Content Subscriber only A North Coast teenager who continued to breach court orders and commit further offences has spent a month and a half behind bars. Oskar-Del Kara Tamaira Muirhead appeared by videolink from custody in Tweed Heads Local Court on December 21. The Bilambil Heights teenager pleaded guilty to charges including two counts of shoplifting, steal and break out and behaving in an offensive manner. Court documents revealed the 19-year-old entered City Beach in Tweed City Shopping Centre and was stopped by an employee outside the shop with a stolen bucket hat and women s socks worth about $100 on August 5.

UPDATE: 2.45PM  THE BUREAU of Meteorology has issued a renewed Severe Thunderstorm Warning encompassing parts of the Northern Rivers. The forecast storm will also affect the Hunter, Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands Forecast Districts. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours, BOM said. RECENT RAINFALL STATS:  84mm recorded in the 2 hours to 11:15am at Boat Harbour. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. Don t walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water. If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.

Drug dealers caught after handing police ID with coke on it

Premium Content Subscriber only TWO North Coast drug dealers were found out when one of them handed his ID to police still with white powder still on the card from racking up lines, a court heard. Tristen Lee Donno, 22, appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday to plead guilty to two counts of drug supply and dealing with the proceeds of a crime. Court documents revealed the Banora Point mechanic was pulled over by patrolling police when he screeched his tyres at the Kennedy Dr and Barret St intersection on September 4 about 11.20pm. Co-accused Samuel Lee Purnell was in the passenger seat of the car along with a third male in the rear.
