Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) under its ongoing campaign against defaulters of different taxes managed to generate over Rs1.17 billion revenue during last nine months of the current financial year.
According to RCB spokesman, Qaiser Mehmood, the board collected over Rs668 million property tax, over Rs167 million water charges, Rs30.7 million Conservancy changes, Rs284 million TIP Tax and over Rs9.2 million Trade License Fee while Rs5.9 million Professional Tax was also recovered from the defaulters during the period.
The RCB teams on the directives of the CEO, RCB Muhammad Farooq Ali Malik were conducting raids in different areas to take action against the defaulters of Property Tax, Water Charges, Transfer of Immovable Property (TIP) Tax and Trade Tax , he added.
Five terrorists arrested

LAHORE: Five terrorists belonging to banned organisation Daesh were arrested by Counter-Terrorism Department Lahore Tuesday in an IBO (Intelligence-Based Operation) conducted in Lahore Region.
Hate material was also recovered. CTD Team Lahore received credible information that members of the Daesh were present near Bhatta Chowk, Lahore. On this information, CTD Team raided the place and arrested five terrorists namely: Nazifullah, Ziaur Rehman, Muhammad Ishtiaq, Abdul Rehman Butt and Malik Kashif. These terrorists were distributing hate material among people and collecting funds for their organisation. Forty banned books, terrorism funds, two receipts of Daesh have been recovered from their possession. Investigation has been started after registering an FIR at CTD Police Station.
