As the clamour grows against the privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant, former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana is the latest to join the voice. Lakshminarayana has shot a letter to PM Narendra Modi against the move to privatise the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He stressed the significance of the Vizag Steel Plant and its vast contribution to the nation’s steel production. In the letter to PM, Lakshminarayana stated that India is at No. 2 in the world in steel production.
Lakshminarayana talked about the Vizag Steel Plant’s contribution in the letter. He said 3200 tonnes of steel for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue and 2200 tonnes of steel for Atal tunnel were the production of VSP. He stressed that the quality of steel production of VSP is at the best.
