SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has identified a jail inmate who died overnight by suicide.
Ryan Oshea, 35, was discovered in the act just after 2 a.m. by a deputy who was serving food trays.
The deputy called for assistance and other deputies attempted to perform life-saving measures until medical staff arrived.
Emergency Medical Service staff arrived at 2:18 a.m. and treated Oshea, but they were unable to resuscitate him and the inmate was pronounced dead at 2:26 a.m., BCSO officials said.

SAN ANTONIO A 45-year-old jail inmate has died at the hospital Monday afternoon after testing positive for coronavirus, according to the Bexar County Sheriff s Office.
The medical examiner has yet to rule on the exact cause of death, but officials say the preliminary cause appears to be complications from COVID-19.
The inmate reportedly told jail staff that he was experiencing symptoms on January 2, and tested positive. BCSO said he was then moved to the infirmary before being taken to University Hospital on January 6.
