San franciscans are starting to expect car breakins like this one. They are just getting savvy in their efforts to protect their possessions. I have a 9yearold, im always telling him clean the inside of the car out cle completely, if its dirty socks, put it in the trunk. Anything seems to trigger people. Reporter residents say they just assume it will happen, not that it wont. You dont leave anything in your car, sometimes you get your windows smashed even if there isnt anything in your car. My friend got broken into for a bag of trash. Reporter casey has also been a victim. We have two cars and weve gotten broken into four or five times the last two years. Reporter even those who dont have cars still deal with the aftermath of breakins. Its more of a surprise to get out of a car and not step n on, you know, crumpled glass. Its a shame.
