CUSD increases in-person learning days for TK-3 students
Ceres Unified School District has increased in-person instruction days for students in transitional kindergarten through third grade from two days per week to four.
The change was implemented this week thanks to steadily declining positivity case rates of COVID-19 in Stanislaus County.
“We’re really excited to be able to resume some sense of normalcy as we look forward to having all students back on campus,” said Beth Jimenez, communications specialist for CUSD. “This is the first step to seeing that happen.”
With the continuing improvement in Stanislaus County’s COVID-19 case rates, guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Public Health allows students in schools already open for in-person instruction to resume a daily schedule, beginning with the youngest.

Ceres Unified School District officials say they are looking forward to welcoming all students back to classrooms – as soon as “safely” possible.
“Please be assured that we will do so with the guidance and recommendation of health officials, in collaboration with the Stanislaus County Office of Education, and with health and safety protocols in place,” CUSD Supt. Scott Siegel said.
Ceres Unified School District Tuesday, Feb. 16 welcomed back to campus small groups of high school and junior high students who were struggling with online education.
