Achievers: UCO students honored with regional journalism awards The Oklahoman © PROVIDED Amanda Siew Amanda Siew, a professional media spring 2021 graduate from Selangor, Malaysia, has received the Student Broadcaster of the Year award for her work with UCentral News.  The Tulsa Press Club and Benevolent Association recently honored University of Central Oklahoma professional media students at the annual Great Plains Journalism Awards during a virtual award ceremony.  In addition to Siew s win, UCO students Ashley Jones, a senior professional media major from Oklahoma City; Jay Mayes, a spring 2020 professional media graduate from Vian; and Mikala Novitsky, a fall 2020 professional media graduate from Midwest City, were honored as finalists for the Best University Newscast award.
