In the laurelton section of queens a water main break created icy conditions sending cars sliding down merrick boulevard. In East New York brooklyn, firefighters had to deal with the bitter cold temperatures while fighting a fire on fountain avenue. Two people suffered minor injuries. Everything was good, and now these days too much crime here. Too much crime. In the last couple of years. Getting worse in the last year. A lot of robberies, and this company and the other company and stores getting robbed. We dont know what is going on its getting worse. There is a definite spike in violence, specifically in Cumberland County in the last six months. Lieutenant Matthew Finley says its a regional problem and vineland is working with other departments to find and arrest the most violence in the area. Putting them in jail and then leaving it to the courts. People need to address the courts and why they are not being kept in jail. The lieutenant says they are watching what is going on here and they are taking steps and the cabbies say they are hopeful but are continuing to be worried. John rawlins, channel 6 action news. Firefighters were called to the a home in belvidere around 3 30. They rushed inside and tried to rescue the woman, but she was pronounced at the scene. A man was able to get out with minor burns. A stray bullet claimed the life of a 3yearold girl in the grays ferry section of philadelphia. Three other people are hospitalized and detectives are questioning a person in the case, the tragedy unfolded on the 1500 block of south edding
