A 16-year-old final year student of the Miracle Senior High School in Sunyani, Leticia Kyere Pinaman has committed suicide at the school’s Dining Hall.
Relatives of the deceased have downplayed suicide as cause of her death, saying the state the body was found hanging does not suggest suicide.

“We suspect our daughter was killed by some body and her body was hanged on a rope just to suggest suicide”, family members claimed.
Father of the deceased, Mr William Okyere, who resides at Wenchi, narrated that when he rushed to the school, he found his daughter hanging on the rope.
A young man identified as Benjamin Adjei, has been arrested for attempting to use his nephew for money ritual in Ghana.
According to reports, Benjamin, 23, allegedly lured his 13-year-old nephew, Listowel Adjei, into a taxi cab, but luck ran out on him when he was arrested upon a tip-off at the Abesim-Tano police barrier on Sunyani-Kumasi Highway on their way to the shrine, on Saturday, May 15.
Police Sergeant Benjamin Lartey, who confirmed the incident told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday, May 17, said that an informant (name withheld) reported at the Abesim Police Sation that he received a phone call from the suspect soliciting his assistance to see a ritualist to help him to sacrifice his nephew for money rituals.

A 23-year-old fashion designer, Benjamin Adjei, has been arrested by the Police in Sunyani for attempting to sacrifice his nephew for money rituals at Abesim in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region.
The suspect allegedly lured the 13-year-old victim, into a taxi cab, but luck eluded him when he was arrested at the Abesim-Tano police barrier on Sunyani-Kumasi highway on their way to the shrine upon a tip-off.
According to the Police District Sergeant Benjamin Lartey, the suspect admitted the crime during interrogations and would be arraigned before court on Monday, May 17.
The suspect was arrested after an informant reported to the Abesim Police station that he had received a phone call from Adjei who solicited his assistance to see a ritualist to help him to sacrifice his nephew for money rituals a couple of weeks ago.
