The widening of Srirangapatna-Kushalnagar highway (part of Bengaluru-Madikeri stretch) will begin next year, announced
Mysuru MP Pratap Simha on Wednesday. Simha was preresiding over the Kodagu District Development Coordination and
Monitoring Committee meeting at Zilla Panchayat Hall in
Madikeri on Wednesday, when he announced the plan.
While the
Bengaluru-Mysuru will have a 10-lane highway (six-lane expressway and four-lane service roads on either sides), the Mysuru-Madikeri portion will be a six-lane road (from the existing two-lane road) till Basavanahalli near Kushalnagar.
