Inaugural presentation explores how mathematical modelling is used in day-to-day life
College of the Rockies’ University Arts and Science is excited to host Dr. Lisa Kanary for their first Academic Speaker Series presentation of 2021. Dr. Kanary’s free virtual presentation will take place on Monday March 1, at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

Let’s Talk About Modelling…Not the Magazine Type, Dr. Kanary will reveal how those math skills we thought we’d never need are used to make informed decisions on a daily basis. She’ll discuss what mathematical models are, and how they can be used to solve the world’s biggest questions including how diseases like COVID-19 spread through populations, how ocean currents bring invasive species to protected areas, and more.
