The New Zealand Parliamentary Cricket Team (aka The
BlackBenchers) have a busy few days ahead as they take on
ex-BlackCaps, local media, and Director-General of Health Dr
Ashley Bloomfield in a series of matches around New
Zealand.
On Sunday March 28 the team will take on a
Media XI at Petone Recreation Ground in Lower Hutt, before
playing a day/night game under lights at Seddon Park in
Hamilton on Monday 1 March. The Seddon Park game will
feature ex-BlackCaps Daniel Vettori, Matthew Hart and James
Marshall. On Wednesday 3 March Parliament plays a Ministry
of Health XI, featuring Director-General of Health Dr Ashley

Devon Conway spent half an hour politely signing autographs and posing for selfies, before he slumped in a plastic chair on the Basin Reserve boundary after one of the great innings in a domestic cricket final. His day wasn’t done yet, by a long way, after smashing 93 not out against Canterbury Kings to delight a home crowd of 5545 and secure the Wellington Firebirds back to back men’s Twenty20 titles. A quick change of clothes, and he was down to Oriental Bay to attend his mate Ben Strang’s wedding reception, having been unable to fully take part in groomsman duties due to a certain cricket match.
