18th century priest who is a distant uncle of Prince William and Harry is step closer to sainthood

A decree issued by Pope Francis said Father Ignatius Spencer lived a life of heroic virtue . Englishman Father Spencer, who was born George Spencer in 1799, now needs two miracles attributed to him if he is to be made a saint.   Father Spencer, who is buried in the church of St Anne and Blessed Dominic in St Helens, Warrington, was the great, great, great uncle of William and Harry s late mother, Princess Diana. The most recent English person to reach the status of sainthood was Cardinal Sir John Henry Newman, who was canonised in 2019.  A priest related to Princes William and Harry has been moved a step closer to sainthood by the Pope

Mount Kilimanjaro trekkers, Bills' QB honor memory of Bemus Point resident | News, Sports, Jobs

skindberg@post-journal.com Bemus Point resident Tim Grace was supposed to be part of the above group that reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in June 2019, but he passed away on the first day of the climb. To honor his memory, the trekkers display a Josh Allen jersey Grace had planned to wear upon reaching the top of the mountain. Tim Grace loved Josh Allen before the kid quarterback even threw his first NFL pass. In fact, the Bemus Point resident walked into the team store at One Bills Drive in Orchard Park in the run-up to the 2018 season, found a No. 17 jersey on the rack, paid for it and then walked happily out the door. Moments later, he put it on and promptly posed for a photo, his arms raised toward the heavens, the price tag still hanging from the left sleeve.
